As someone who studied fashion at university, and (if you follow me on Snapchat will realise) enjoys a tipple or two – it was an absolute no brainer for me to reinject a love of London again via Italy with a little help from Peroni Nastro Azzurro and Missoni.
Last Thursday (11th August) I trotted down to the Fashion and Textile Museum in London and submerged myself in the most incredible and inspiring exhibition: Missoni Art Colour. Wearing a totally forgotten pair of Russell and Bromley loafers and Zara pants (below). Hoards of glorious knitwear, runway garments and fabrics fill the space and may I just say ahem, it was unbeWEAVEable. I can’t apologise enough.
Marvelously The House of Peroni offers late night viewings of the exhibition with the added bonus of an apretivo master class. – Knits, chats AND laughter – hurrah! ‘Peroni Nastro Azzurro with cocktails?!’ I hear you scream – yes my friends, oh yes. It’s very much the future and the key to a much smoother drink.
Surrounded by custom designed Missoni mirrors (exclusively for The House of Peroni don’t you know), I was taught the art of making a Peroni Nastro Azzuro Negroni and a Peroni Nastro Azzurro Spritz. For me, it’s all about the Peroni Nastro Azzurro Spritz… and eeping out the last drips of summer. Here’s how to make one:
GRAPEFRUIT JUICE (40ml)
PERONI NASTRO AZZURRO PICCOLA (100ml)
BAR EQUIPMENT (if you really want to go in)
LARGE WINE GLASS
TEARDROP BAR SPOON
- Take a large wine glass and fill with ice cubes.
- Pour in the prosecco, Aperol and grapefruit juice, then top up with Peroni Nastro Azzurro.
- Stir and garnish with a grapefruit wedge.
Aperol (above) topped up with grapefruit juice (below).
Add prosecco (above) and follow with ice (below).
Top up with Peroni Nastro Azzurro Piccola.
